RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Maintenance Fitter, you'll play a key role in maintaining and repairing plant equipment to ensure safety and maximise production efficiency. Your proactive approach to safety, teamwork, and problem-solving will help drive success in this critical position.

Your responsibilities will focus on four key areas:

Site Health, Safety, and Compliance

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report and address all incidents, including near misses.
  • Ensure compliance with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures and company policies.
  • Actively contribute to safety initiatives, including toolbox talks and observations.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Identify and address potential risks before they impact operations.
  • Keep safety and compliance at the forefront of all maintenance activities.

Equipment Servicing and Troubleshooting

  • Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, raising work orders as needed.
  • Support the installation of new equipment and projects.

Team Collaboration

  • Be a supportive and proactive member of the maintenance team.
  • Share your expertise to mentor apprentices and foster a positive work environment.
  • Bring ideas for continuous improvement and help refine procedures.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • A solid mechanical background.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic systems.
  • Skills in MIG/TIG/Stick welding and basic machining.
  • A current forklift license.
  • The ability to work independently and unsupervised.
