The purpose of the Parts Interpreter is to serve the Parts counter which provides custom to the workshop, service consultants, warehouse and pre-delivery departments needs, ensuring a cost effective and time efficient service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Parts Service

  • Respond promptly to queries from internal customers, interpret part required, determine parts availability and prepare quotations.
  • Pick up parts from warehouse and provide to internal customer.
  • Prioritise quotations and parts, depending on the urgency of request and the needs of the customer.
  • Handle retail and trade enquiries.
  • Handle all Porsche credit procedure.
  • Administration
  • Prepare back-order confirmation reports on each vehicle on receipt of part and issue consultant with back-order report.
  • Prepare the VOR forms for orders and ensure confirmation as received from distributor.
  • Ensure job number is allocated and recorded for all requests. Order parts from warehouse, ensuring dispatch note is signed by consultant.
  • Where appropriate, place back order to Germany and inform consultants and supervisors of estimated time of arrival.
  • Supervising (if applicable)
  • Co-ordinate and prioritise the activities completed by the Apprentice.
  • Assist Apprentice deal with new problems on the job.
  • Participate in performance appraisal yearly and suggest areas of strengths and areas for development which require training.
  • Requirements:

  • Qualification as an Automotive Interpreter with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Experience in luxury automotive industry would be desirable.
  • Valid drivers' licence and forklift license would be highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven experience in a customer focused position.
  • Previous experience using a DMS and intermediate computer skills.
