We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician for a full-time permanent position. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of equipment and processes that will challenge and develop the right candidate. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of plant operations.

THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading Australian steel manufacturer, specialising in processing and distributing high quality steel products. With advanced facilities dedicated to recycling scrap steel, they are committed to sustainability, innovation, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform preventative and general maintenance on machinery and plant equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise downtime.
  • Assist in the day-to-day efficient running of plant equipment.
  • Work with conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Operate and service machinery to maintain optimal performance.
  • Provide technical support to the team.
  • Assist in the installation, upgrades, and modifications of electrical systems and new equipment.
  • Maintain detailed records of all work performed and report on the status of electrical systems.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • 3 years' experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrates strong fault diagnosis and problem solving abilities.
  • Possesses hands on experience in low voltage (LV) and high voltage (HV) systems.
  • Capable of working autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Shows leadership qualities and a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Is reliable, safety conscious, and has a strong work ethic.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Australian recognised Electrical trade qualification.
  • Victorian A Grade Electrical License.
  • Hands on experience in PLC fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Ability to work across all shifts.
  • Forklift, confined space, EWP, and switching certifications (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
