About the role

Located in Tallebudgera, this role involves supporting a non-verbal gentleman in his mid-20s with a Traumatic Brain Injury. Our client requires full assistance with all ADL's, behaviour management, cooking assistance and community access. The client also requires assistance with Peristeen Bowel Care, which you will receive training for. We are currently looking for staff who can work day shifts (6am to 4pm) as well as some sleepover shifts (3pm to 10pm and 5am to 8am the following day). Due to the nature and complexity of this clients' needs, candidates must have relevant disability experience.


Your key responsibilities

Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Worker who can undertake the following key responsibilities:

  • ADL's
  • Manual handling (floor hoist)
  • Medications and hydration via PEG
  • Peristeen bowel care 
  • Behavioural management
  • Community access 
  • Companionship



About you

To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Previous disability experience
  • Manual handling experience (essential or willing to obtain)
  • Personal care experience
  • Dual Covid-19 vaccinations
  • Current First aid and CPR
  • Yellow card/NDIS Screening Card
  • PEG competency certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Medication certificate (or willing to obtain)

We are also looking for someone with great communication skills, who works well in a team, has a caring and supportive nature, and is client-focused.
