About the role

We are seeking experienced Enrolled, Registered Nurses or Support Workers to work as Disability Support Workers to provide specific in-home care and support work for our client living in the Unley area. Nursing students are encouraged to apply, you will gain valuable clinical skills and experience.

We are looking for applicants who are available for day, evening and overnight shifts and have experience providing support for clients with spinal cord injuries. You must be available to commit to 2-3 shifts per week as a minimum.

Your key responsibilities

Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Workers who can undertake the following key responsibilities:

  • Tracheostomy and Ventilator Management (training provided)
  • Continual clinical assessment of client
  • Catheter Care
  • Personal Care including Skin Integrity Management and Pressure Area Care
  • Assisting other Support Worker with ADL's
  • Medication Administratio
  • Bowel Care Management
  • Manual Handling
  • Behavioural Management
  • Supporting the client with activities at home and out in community
  • 2:1 Support, working alongside another support worker

About you

To join our team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Full South Australian Driver's Licence and reliable car
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Manual Handling certification
  • Assist with Medication Certification
  • English fluency - verbal and written

We are also looking for someone with great communication skills, who works well in a team, has a caring and supportive nature, and is client-focused.
