About the role.

Reporting into management, this role is responsible for delivering end-to-end HR administrative support alongside accurate and timely payroll processing. You will be a key point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring a high level of service while maintaining compliance and confidentiality.


Your key responsibilities.

Human Resources

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, changes and offboarding
  • Coordinate recruitment activities (advertising, screening, interviews, reference checks and offers)
  • Prepare and maintain employment contracts, position descriptions, policies and procedures
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
  • Provide HR advice and guidance to employees and leaders
  • Assist with training and development coordination and workforce planning
  • Support workplace health & safety processes, including workers' compensation and return-to-work programs
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of HR policies and procedures

Payroll

  • Process weekly payroll and superannuation accurately and on time
  • Maintain payroll systems and employee records
  • Ensure compliance with awards, contracts, and Fair Work requirements
  • Manage statutory obligations including superannuation and payroll tax
  • Respond to payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with end-of-year processes including STP reporting

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies
  • Maintain accurate records and confidentiality of employee information
  • Prepare HR and payroll reports for management
  • Support audit processes and monitor legislative changes

About you.

You are an organised and detail-focused HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing both HR and payroll responsibilities.

We are looking for the following skills and experience:

Required

  • Previous HR experience with payroll responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards, and Fair Work
  • Proven payroll processing experience
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Desired

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in HR, Payroll, or Business Administration
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems
  • Exposure to workers' compensation and return-to-work processes
  • Background in transport, logistics, warehousing or manufacturing
