About the role

We are currently seeking experienced & supportive carers to work with our young male client who has has Beare-Stevenson Syndrome as well as other associated disabilities. Our client has a Tracheostomy & requires mechanical ventilation of a night time while he sleeps. This role is predominately to work day shifts but there may be an opportunity to work some active night shifts to cover shifts when other staff are not available. For the active night shift, you will be required to monitor the ventilator, Sp02, suctioning & manage nutrition via PEG. During the day you will be required to be with the client during the day & go on outings. The role consists of day shifts & active night shifts. This role involves both personal & emotional support so if you have a positive mind set, are intuitive & client focused, this role is for you. Seeking staff for a mix of day & active night shifts 7 days per wek. You also need to be happy to use your car to drive client to events & to access the community.

Skills and experience

• Disability and Support work
• Manual handling
• Ventilator & Tracheostomy experience
• Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual support (Disability/Ageing) or someone with Disability/Support work history
