About the role:

Located in Surfers Paradise, we are seeking a casual support worker to provide care to a gentleman in his 30s who has Spina Bifidia. The client is wheelchair bound and requires assistance with accessing the community. The client has a disability accessible van that his carers can drive. He is very independent and enjoys going out for coffee, shopping, and having a good conversation with his carers. We are currently looking for a staff member to work 3 shifts a week (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday). Shifts are 9:00am to 2:00pm.  Potential for extra days.

Duties:

• Driving the client to outings and appointments
• Providing companionship
• Prompting when required

• Assisting the client to plan out day and week

About you:

• Previous disability experience (essential)
• Current First Aid and CPR
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance/Yellow Card 
• Manual Handling Certificate (or willing to obtain)
• Ability to drive a disability accessible van (must be at least 25 y/o)
• Enjoys having conversation
