About the role:

Located in Bunbury WA, you will be part of a 24/7 care team supporting our male client. You will provide full assistance of personal care, medication administration, meal preparation and feeding assistance, manual handling tasks and transfers. An extensive onboarding program will be provided with buddy shifts to help you with your training and education in the client's care routine.

Your key responsibilities:

Our team is looking for a dedicated Disability Support Worker who will undertake the following key responsibilities:

• Personal Care
• Pressure area care and skin integrity support
• Meal preparation
• Completion of transfers including bed to commode and commode to wheelchair, with the use of a mobile hoist/ lifter
• Manual handling including repositioning, pushing/ pulling wheelchair, and commode within the client home
• General household tasks including light cleaning assistance

About you:

To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

• Certificate III in Individual Support or above (relevant care certificates may also be considered)
• Experience with spinal cord injury
• Specific Disability / Complex Care experience (minimum 2 years experience)
• Manual handling certificate and experience (essential)
• Current First aid and CPR
• Yellow Card/NDIS Worker's Screening Check
• NDIS Orientation Module
• English Fluency - verbal and written
• Experience working with challenging behaviours - highly desirable
• Catheter Care, Stoma Care, PEG Care - highly desirable
• Tracheostomy/Ventilator Experience - highly desirable
• Traumatic or Acquired Barin Injury experience - highly desirable
• Palliative Care experience - highly desirable
