YOUR ROLE

As a Toolmaker, your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our production lines run smoothly and efficiently, whilst considering costs and the production schedule. The position requires a good understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance.

THE COMPANY

Our client is a beverage can expert with a thirst for creating new packaging solutions for their customers. They produce a significant amount of beverage cans every year. Many of Australia and New Zealand's most recognised beverage brands are delivered in cans they make. Their highly automated site located in Smithfield blends state-of-the-art technology with proven, time-tested machinery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and repair machinery and tools used in the production of beverage cans.
  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with the production team to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATES:

  • Proven experience as a Toolmaker in a manufacturing environment, coupled with relevant qualifications
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments, tools & equipment, and to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years of industry/manufacturing/FMCG experience
  • Own vehicle and driver's license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great work ethic with the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
