Our client is a progressive local government in Sydney, known for its vibrant, diverse community and commitment to innovation, sustainability, and high-quality services.

Working as a People and Culture Advisor supporting the P&C team, you will be delivering high-quality administrative support and advice across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and recognition programs. You will also respond to staff enquiries and contribute to the continuous improvement of P&C services and customer experience.

Reporting to the Senior P&C Business Partner, this role maintains strong relationships and ensures efficient systems administration, reporting, and process improvement.

This role is a contract role working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm for 3 months with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities Overview

Administrative Support

  • Provide end-to-end admin support across P&C processes including recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding.
  • Handle data entry, reporting, records management, correspondence, mail, and office supplies.
  • Support event coordination and process invoices, requisitions, and training registrations.

Customer Service & Stakeholder Support

  • Deliver timely and accurate information and advice to staff and managers.
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical standards are upheld.

Systems, Processes & Reporting

  • Prepare routine reports and assist with data collection and analysis.
  • Support the implementation and improvement of P&C systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in documenting business rules and operational standards.

Workplace Health & Safety

  • Comply with WHS procedures and ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  • Adhere to statutory and organisational regulations and policies.

Continuous Improvement & Business Excellence

  • Actively contribute to service improvement, innovation, and business excellence initiatives.
  • Align work practices with Council values, strategic objectives, and industry best practices.
  • Undertakes all administrative office duties in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Preparation and receipt of appropriate documentation including liaison with suppliers.
  • Stock Control, stock customer reconciliation and cycle count.
  • Working with accounts/inventory/procurement.
  • Allocating and retrieving paperwork from specific warehouse areas.
  • Responsible for housekeeping in own work environment.
  • General administration duties for warehouse receiving and dispatching.
  • Exercises discretion within their level of skills and training.
  • Possesses basic interpersonal and communication skills with all fellow workers.
  • Works in a team environment and/or under routine supervision.
  • Purchase ordering.
  • Facilitate with contractors and suppliers - organising physio roster for the site, organising training, organising waste pick up.
  • Responsible for the quality of your own work subject to the detailed direction or any direction or information provided.

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience working within a People and Culture environment in providing high level administrative support, services and advice.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and time management skills with ability to adapt and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across a range of administrative tasks.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including providing clear, accurate and timely information and advice.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret and administer or apply protocols, policies and other instruments.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and multi-skilling.
  • Advanced computer skills and ability to use a range of computer applications.
