We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Doctor/Patient Liaison Coordinator to join a specialist medical practice located within a respected day surgery clinic in Adelaide. This full-time, Monday-to-Friday, office-based role is ideal for someone with a background in ophthalmology or clinic-based healthcare administration who thrives in a structured and patient-focused environment.


In this role, you will work closely with a single specialist, supporting their clinic operations and coordinating care for approximately 10-15 patients per day. You will be the key liaison between the doctor and patients, ensuring smooth scheduling, communication, and administrative flow throughout the patient journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for patient enquiries, follow-ups, and appointment coordination
  • Manage patient bookings, confirmations, and cancellations
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and clinical documentation
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external providers as required
  • Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients regarding treatment plans and procedures
  • Prepare and manage patient files ahead of consultations and surgeries
  • Assist with basic billing and Medicare claiming processes
  • Support the doctor with general administrative tasks to ensure clinic efficiency

About You:

  • Previous experience in a medical or specialist clinic, ideally in ophthalmology or a similar surgical setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach
  • Proven ability to manage a steady workflow and prioritise in a busy clinical environment
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Proficiency in medical practice software (Genie or similar systems preferred
  • Reliable, professional, and confident working independently in an office-based setting
  • Available for full-time, Monday to Friday hours
