About the role:

We have an exciting and rewarded support opportunity to share with you. Located in Carlton you will be part of a care team to support a paraplegic young female client who is a nursing student staying in the student housing.

Active and on call roster:

Active hours 6:00am-9:00am & 5:30pm-8:30pm
on call roster times would be:9:00am-5:30pm DAY and then 8:30pm-6:00am NIGHT.

If you are called into a shift you will be paid active hour for minimum 2 hours.

Only normally called in for bowel accident so need to be about to assist with bowel care and cleaning.


Your key responsibilities:

Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Worker who can undertake the following key responsibilities:

  • Manual handling
  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Catheter care
  • Medication administration and management
  • Bowel care management

About you:

To join our team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Previous disability experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability or related field (essential)
  • Previous bowel care management experience
  • Personal care experience
  • Current First Aid and CPR (essential)
  • NDIS Worker's Screening Check (essential)
  • Valid Victorian driver's licence
  • Nationally Accredited Manual handling certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Nationally Accreidted Medication certificate (or willing to obtain)

We are also looking for someone with great communication skills, who works well in a team, has a caring and supportive nature, and is client-focused.
