What You'll Do:

We are seeking an experienced QA Assessor to join our team on the afternoon shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM). This full-time, permanent role will report to the QA Supervisor in the Production Department. You will be responsible for ensuring the consistent production quality of mechanical items produced both in-house and through outsourced suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure production quality meets the company's established standards.
  • Create In Process Inspection Plans (IPC) for mechanical items produced on-site.
  • Inspect mechanical components to verify they match detailed drawings and CAD models.
  • Conduct inspections of mechanical items, logging results in work orders.
  • Review non-conformance reports, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Package and dispatch finished goods from in house production.
  • Provide value adding to machined parts through processes like metal finishing.
  • Operate Horizontal and Vertical Machine Centres, as well as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Use a Measuring Arm to compare physical items to solid CAD models.
  • Support other factory duties as needed.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Engineering with at least 5 years of post trade experience.
  • Hands on experience in mechanical assembly, prototype creation, and 3D modelling (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Advanced skill with manual machining, working with aluminium, fitting, fabrication, and precision measurement tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word at an intermediate level.
  • Excellent attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to stay focused.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's licence and overhead crane chaser licence.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in dynamic environments.
