Our client has over 50 years of experience in civil engineering and earthmoving and have completed projects for major companies, city councils and airports in Albury, Wodonga, and surrounding areas. These projects have included civil road construction, installation of underground services, car park construction and bulk earthworks. Due to an increase in demand of their services, our client is looking for a Project Manager / Civil Engineer to join their team.



YOUR ROLE

Working as part of an experienced team your objectives will be:

  • Project management of large civil construction sites - undertaking bulk earthworks, road construction, service installation and ground works for commercial building projects.
  • Executing projects though all stages of a project life cycle - scoping, costing, procurement, execution and close out.
  • Instructing / organising work crews and subcontractors on multiple work sites, located throughout Albury / Wodonga & surrounds.
  • Monitoring budgets and scheduling resources
  • Resolving and escalating project issues and ensuring strong lines of communication to all stakeholders is maintained.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure expectations are met.
  • Contract administration and control
  • Programming and scheduling of works on a day to day basis.
  • Assigning tasks to other project personnel
  • Providing quality assurance of work undertaken by staff assigned to the project
  • Recommending implementation approaches
  • Attend planning meetings with other Engineers and Managers to plan upcoming resource & personnel requirements.
  • Generate & maintain AutoCAD drawings & 3D modelling information.
  • Perform on-site survey activities using Trimble GPS rover - including setting out for kerb, storm-water, services and road works.
  • Trouble shooting on-site GPS guided earthmoving equipment.
  • Preparing and delivering regular reports on the project process and outstanding issues
  • Encouraging the transfer of management knowledge and skills to the appropriate staff within the organisation



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project manage and facilitate all phases of projects. This will require managing a team to scope and cost, execute on site and close out projects.
  • Monitor and control schedule and budgets for works
  • Develop risk plans and mitigation strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Provide regular communications and reports to stakeholders within the business
  • Maintain awareness and commitment to employment and legislative responsibilities in relation to safety, discrimination, HR policies, quality and the environment.



KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Construction project management experience
  • Ability to build relationships, facilitate and influence with good interpersonal skills
  • A proven practice in driving projects to conclusion
  • Sound time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Safety and risk management capability
  • Ability to plan and implement
  • Superior problem solving ability
  • Excellent communications skills



KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications preferred
  • Relevant experience in Project Management
  • Current motor vehicle driver's license is essential
  • Experienced in contract management and stakeholder engagement
