The Role: Medical Receptionist

In this role, you will spend most of your time welcoming patients, managing a busy reception desk, coordinating appointments, handling a high volume of incoming calls, and ensuring patients receive a positive experience from arrival through to departure. You'll work closely with specialists, nurses, technicians and the wider administration team while supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the clinic. The role also includes referral triaging, maintaining accurate patient records, and providing backfill support within the bookings team when required.

What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience working as a Medical Receptionist or within specialist medical rooms (essential)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with a professional and empathetic approach
  • The ability to multitask, prioritise competing demands, and remain calm in a busy clinical environment
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • A collaborative, flexible approach and willingness to support the wider team
  • Experience within ophthalmology or another specialist medical practice will be highly regarded
