CNC MACHINIST

Location - Bayswater North

Permanent Full Time

Rate - $43.45 per hour + Superannuation

Our client is Australia's most successful machine tool maker, and a global tier 1 supplier of computer numerical control (CNC) tools and cutter grinders to meet large-scale manufacturing and entry-level production requirements. Today our client is a thriving business with over 1,000 employees and a world-leading manufacturer of CNC grinding machines, motion controls and manufacturing solutions.

YOUR ROLE

This position is responsible for supporting machine Shop component manufacture to company production schedules within quality and ensuring all company safety policies are met. This role will support the Cnc Turning Cell, Cnc Grinding and Machinist team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet in full the allocated machine shop production plan.
  • Monitor material and part supply, escalate issues identified and take the agreed corrective action
  • Ensure the Plan is followed to the machining work schedule in line with the manufacturing plans
  • Minimize the rework and the waste at all times
  • Flexibility regarding working arrangements (Day, Afternoon, night) shift
  • Strong metrology skills and the ability to inspect and measure components to precision tolerances

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Australian trade certificate in Fitting and Machining Toolmaking (or equivalent)
  • Experience in manufacturing precision components on a CNC Mill and lathe
  • Experience in programming and operating Mazak machines (Mazatrol)
  • The ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings (Understanding of GD&T)
  • CAM programming would be an advantage
  • CAD skills Solid Works or NX would be an advantage.
