About the role

We are currently seeking Casual Disability Support Workers to work with our non-binary young person. Our client is paralysed & ventilator dependent. The role requires you to assist our client with all ADL's as well as clinical support of the Ventilator, Tracheostomy & PEG. Full training is provided for this role for the right candidate, but background experience is highly desirable. This role involves both personal & emotional support so if you have a positive mind set, are intuitive & client focused, this role is for you. Please note until you have recieved training, you will only be rostered for 1600-1900 ADL shifts.

Duties

• Tracheostomy care
• Ventilator care
• Suctioning
• Enteral feeding & management (Flocare Infinity)
• Manual handling
• Medication
• Domestic assistance
• Companionship
• Community access assistance

Skills and experience

• Disability and Support work
• Manual handling
• PEG knowledge/experience
• Tracheostomy & ventilator experience is desirable
• Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual support (Disability/Ageing) or someone with Disability/Support work history
