About the role:

Our client is an individual living at home in Glen Waverley with a spinal injury and requires Support Workers to help reach community and clinical goals.

Our Support Workers will demonstrate teamwork and champion a safe and positive environment for our client and will be guided by a strong management presence. You will help us manage and maintain strong clinical standards and will be required to support our client in achieving their short and long-term goals.

Our client requires a few additional support workers to join his team on a casual basis. This is a great opportunity for you to make a difference in our client's life, as well as enhance your skills and knowledge by working alongside a Registered Nurse.

Duties;

  • Work alongside a Registered Nurse and assist with personal care and manual handling
  • Supporting the client in achieving their community and clinical goals
  • Providing true and authentic companionship to the client
  • Light household duties

You must have;

  • Valid Australian Driver's License
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support / Disability / Aged Care
  • Proof of rights to work in Australia
  • NDIS Worker Screener Check

The right candidates will need to meet the following criteria, client specific training will also be provided;

  • +6 months manual handling experience (using hoist machines)
  • Experience with providing personal care to clients with high needs - this includes full assistance with showering, continence care and personal hygiene
  • Be able to work in a team environment with exceptional communication skills.
