Our client is a well-known agricultural equipment manufacturer headquartered in Canada, with a facility in NSW. They have a strong history of creating top-quality, durable farm machinery. Their innovative products include the world's first tow-behind 138-bushel air seeder cart and the Mid Row Bander System, which makes precise fertilizer application during seeding easier. Their mission is to design, make, and distribute high-quality farm equipment that exceeds customer expectations, and they play a big role in modernizing farming, both locally and globally.



YOUR ROLE:

Operation Manager Role

As an Operation Manager, you will be responsible for effectively coordinating all aspects of operations in Eastern Australia, including sales & marketing, service & warranty, parts distribution, and production/assembly, in order to ensure the needs of all stakeholders are met. This position is located at the warehouse facility in NSW.



The ideal candidate will possess the following experience:

  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an ability to think conceptually to solve problems and envision future opportunities
  • Customer-focused attitude with a strong ability to build relationships, both with customers and within the team
  • Solid understanding of and interest in precision seeding and tillage equipment, and the role it plays in modern farming practices and agronomy
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Good planning skills, including the ability to identify trends and effectively manage them
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Infor XA and related databases
  • Educational background in Agri-Business or Engineering is an asset.







MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor the performance of operations in Eastern Australia and ensure that team and corporate-level objectives are met
  • Lead and coordinate sales and marketing activities for Eastern Australia, create and administer marketing programs to maximise opportunities
  • Work closely with Marketing and Australia Managing Director to establish long-range forecasting & sales goals that maximise benefit to the organisation
  • Engage with the production manager, parts manager, and financial controller to establish long-range plans for the workforce required to meet sales goals and provide ongoing support.
  • Resolve warranty issues quickly and efficiently, minimise warranty costs and maximise cost recovery
  • Plan, promote and execute dealer functions to promote products to the dealer network.
  • Perform management & HR functions including training & development of team members, performance appraisals, and other responsibilities as required
  • Work with other departments and locations of the business (including Canadian corporate headquarters & manufacturing facilities) in order to provide the best possible customer service and to ensure corporate objectives are met.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant experience in a similar role within a similar industry is considered ideal.
  • Business or Trade qualification
  • Customer service focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels - written, phone, and face-to-face.
  • Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with varying communication styles depending upon the audience.
  • Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
  • Leadership: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
  • Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within the time frame given and carry out administrative duties within the portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
