About the role:

Our client is seeking a Junior Project Manager to support the successful delivery of projects in a timely, cost-effective, and high-quality manner. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the management of project resources, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating the work of consultants and staff to ensure project delivery meets agreed specifications and quality standards. This role also includes a focus on safety, maintaining positive client relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be committed to driving continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

This exciting project-based role requires the successful candidate to oversee work progress and ensure that all aspects of the project are carried out to the required standard. The role will involve regular travel to multiple sites in the Bowen Basin region, with rosters that may change depending on the project. As such, the candidate must be highly flexible and able to adapt to changing project requirements. They must also be willing and able to travel frequently to these sites and work closely with stakeholders to ensure that the project is delivered on time and to the expected quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, timelines, and budgets
  • Coordinate and manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials
  • Monitor project progress and report on status to stakeholders
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and customer expectations
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions
  • Be flexible with availability, as projects may require travel to different locations

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in a civil construction or engineering discipline
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management or related field
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Projects - desirable
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel and work at different locations as required
  • S123: Risk Management, Incident Investigation & Communications - Statement of Attainment
  • Coal Board Medical - not essential but highly regarded
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical & provide a National Police Check
