FABRICATOR

YOUR ROLE

As a fabricator, your primary role is to produce high-quality fabrication and welding outputs to meet the key production requirements of your stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all duties in a professional manner, complying with all relevant legislation, standards, policies and best practices.
  • Weld a variety of materials, including but not limited to carbon steel, high-grade steel, stainless steel, aluminium, heavy structural, light structural and sheet metal.
  • Weld in flat, horizontal vertical or overhead positions.
  • Perform gas metal arc welding (MIG), gas tungsten arc welding (TIG) and manual metal arc and stick welding (ARC)
  • Carry out oxy cutting, oxy welding and gouging.
  • Prepare the welding site, clean finished welds and back gouging/repair of defective welds, linishing and dressing.
  • Consistently check dimensions using squares, rulers, measuring tapes and other measuring devices to ensure the product meets specifications.
  • Read, interpret and work efficiently and effectively on engineering drawings.
  • Perform all duties as requested by the leading hand or supervisor, reporting any issues immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and organised workspace.
  • Maintain flexibility to work overtime and on weekend call-out rosters where reasonably requested.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant trade level qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years post trade completion experience in relevant field.
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in relevant welding techniques.
  • MIG, TIG and ARC welding.
  • Able to interpret and analyse drawings and technical documents.
  • Operate safely and maintain a current understanding of safe work practices.

To be successful and considered for the role you will need to pass a Drug and Alcohol, Medical and Police Clearance Check.
