Our client is a leading innovator in manufacturing and distributing long steel products. They are Australia's only fully vertically integrated steel manufacturing utilising scrap metal recycling and downstream distribution.

They are seeking an Electrician with manufacturing experience to assist with their machine operations, manufacturing a wide variety of steel for concrete infrastructure based at their St Mary's warehouse.

Key responsibilities:

This role will involve; sourcing and ordering of basic parts - standard / consumables (includes use of commercial system where appropriate), Maintaining machine files to standard required. Operating using special work orders (eg: clearances, confined space, tag outs, etc), Participating in audit processes / risk / job safety analysis / contractor management, Participating in resolving safety issuesin the manufacturing warehouse.

Other tasks may include:

  • Fault finding on company specific equipment
  • Read and understand basic electrical drawings
  • Basic PLC understanding
  • Understand machine automation e.g. encoders, proximity switches
  • Planning and managing equipment installation and commissioning of new plant (e.g. spiral machines,

benders)

  • Understanding of light curtains and safety relays
  • Electrical cabinet construction
  • Basic welding (non-structural)

Essential Criteria

  • Trade qualification - Electrician
  • Experience with troubleshooting, fault identification and rectification
  • Manufacturing
  • Heavy equipment repair and maintenance experience beneficial
  • A good level of physical fitness
  • Comfortable with manual handling - able to lift 20kg-25kg consistently
  • Have a hardworking, self-motivated attitude
  • Able to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol
  • Available Monday to Friday
