About the role:

Drake Medox is seeking fun, bubbly and hard-working support workers within the Deer Park area.

Our client in Deer Park has a spinal injury and requires experienced support workers to work a rotating roster on an ongoing basis.

Our client is very independent, however requires assistance in his physical day to day tasks and community access activities. Our ideal candidate will have proven experience with manual handling (hoist), assisting with medications, bowel care assistance, personal care, full assistance with Activities of Daily Living and enjoy socializing in the community.

Your positive attitude and passion for life will be the most important aspect of your role. The right candidates will be flexible and available to work Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday's every week from 7:00am-13:00pm.

Your key responsibilities

Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Support Worker who can undertake the following key responsibilities:

  • Manual handling (hoist machine)
  • Medication administration
  • Personal care
  • Catheter care
  • Domestic assistance
  • Bowel Care management
  • Full supervision of the client
  • Pressure area management
  • Attend day to day household
  • Full assistance with our client's activities of daily living
  • Assisting and supporting the client in the home and out in the community access

About you

To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Previous disability experience
  • Minimum Cert III in Disability or other relevant qualifications
  • Manual handling experience (essential)
  • Personal care experience
  • Current accredited First aid and CPR
  • Yellow card/NDIS Screening Card
  • Nationally Accredited Manual handling certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Nationally Accredited Medication certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Right to live and work within Australia
  • Valid Australian Driver's License
  • NDIS worker screener check

We are also looking for someone with great communication skills, who works well in a team, has a caring, bubbly and supportive nature, and is client focused.
