About the role

We are currently seeking Casual Disability Support Workers to work with our non-binary young person who is 18. Our client is paralysed & ventilator dependent. The role requires you to assist our client with all ADL's as well as clinical support of the Ventilator, Tracheostomy & PEG. Full training is provided for this role for the right candidate, but background experience is highly desirable. This role involves both personal & emotional support so if you have a positive mind set, are intuitive & client focused, this role is for you. Please note until you have recieved training, you will only be rostered for 1600-1900 ADL shifts.



Your key responsibilities

Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Worker who can undertake the following key responsibilities:

  • Tracheostomy care
  • Ventilator care
  • Suctioning
  • Enteral feeding & management (Flocare Infinity)
  • Manual handling
  • Medication
  • Domestic assistance
  • Companionship
  • Community access assistance



About you

To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Previous disability experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Manual handling experience (essential)
  • PEG management
  • Personal care experience
  • Current First aid and CPR
  • Yellow card/NDIS Screening Card
  • Manual handling certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • PEG competency certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Medication certificate (or willing to obtain)

We are also looking for someone with great communication skills, who works well in a team, has a caring and supportive nature, and is client-focused.
