We are looking for APS 5 Communication Officer for one of our government clients.

  • Full time position - 5 Days week

Our client is looking for a communication all-rounder to work in the Aged Care Communication and Change Branch.

This position requires media and/or communications experience.

To be successful you will have high-level strategic thinking, and strong writing, editing and content creation skills. You will exercise sound judgement, demonstrate active listening, and have a high degree of initiative.

Division Responsibilities

The People, Communication and Parliamentary Division (PCPD) plays an essential enabling role in the department by:

  • Delivering on the department's strategic direction including strengthening the workforce through planning, recruitment and mobility, strengthening leadership and expanding learning and development, including improving talent management.
  • Providing professional communication advice, strategies and services to support the department to deliver on the Government's commitment to improve health of all Australians.
  • Providing an end-to-end ministerial, parliamentary and executive support service to both the Minister's office and the executive.

Branch Responsibilities

The Ageing and Aged Care Communication and Change Branch supports the Group within the department to achieve its portfolio outcomes by providing a range of communication and engagement services, including:

  • Strategic communication advice and services
  • Strategic engagement planning and delivery
  • Media services and speech writing
  • Change management and communication, both internal and external
  • Campaigns and market research services
  • Corporate communication resources and services

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with your Senior Communications Officer and Assistant Director to support the development and delivery of communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Write/edit content for a broad range of communication channels, including web, social media, digital channels, media and public relations activities, marketing and information products.
  • Support the production of media products that influence and inform government, Ministers, and the public.
  • Proactively identify communication opportunities and assist in the creation of materials.
  • Demonstrate organisation, time management and attention to detail with the ability to balance multiple projects to deliver desired outcomes.
