About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Project Manager to join our client's newly developed Civil & Infrastructure Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing large-scale ground engineering projects and will report directly to the Operations Manager. You will work closely with clients, engineers, and field crews on-site to ensure timely completion of all projects. This is a project-based role and requires flexibility to work on various rosters to suit project requirements.

  • Manage large-scale ground engineering projects concurrently, including civil infrastructure projects on a mine site such as haul roads, dams, bridges, and drainage systems
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and engineers as a representative of the company
  • Schedule crews and resources to ensure optimal allocation of skills and experience to each project
  • Oversee and monitor progress against time, cost, and quality requirements of construction projects
  • Take ultimate responsibility for project performance, ensuring Site Managers and Supervisors have necessary skills and resources
  • Maintain regular communication with the Senior Management team, other Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Designers, and Engineers at each site to ensure coordination of construction activities
  • Identify suitable opportunities, considering profitability and risk factors, and recommend them to the Senior Management team
  • Regularly review business practices related to company construction projects to ensure maximum cost, quality, and safety benefits are achieved

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in a civil construction or engineering discipline
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management or related field
  • Strong understanding of contracts and adherence
  • Experience in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to read plans and specifications
  • Excellent team leadership skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage risks and issues related to time, cost, and quality
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements
