ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROL SYSTEM DESIGNER

This role operates within the Electrical Engineering team to deliver the capital programme of the company Engineering team.

  • Provide Electrical and Instrumentation design and drafting support for capital projects
  • Support Engineering group and plants/sites with drawings and documents
  • Operate and work in the business (product data management) systems, preferred Autodesk Vault
  • Coordinate drawings, ensuring accurate recording of revisions and tracking

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and draft Electrical, Instrumentation and Control systems for major capital projects that are managed by the business.

  • Support Engineering group and plants/sites with drawings and documents.

  • Design and drawing to be managed through the company's (product data management) systems - Autodesk Vault.

  • Provide technical assistance to the business's glass plants in the area of Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation design. This may require assessments at site and communication with plant teams.

  • Participate in updating and maintaining electrical engineering specifications and standards.

  • Maintain awareness and commitment to employment and legislative responsibilities in relation to safety, discrimination, HR policies, quality and the environment.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3 years' experience in Electrical, Instrumentation or Control system design for heavy industry
  • Knowledge of Electrical and Instrumentation design principles, including switchboards, MCCs, control systems, industrial instrumentation
  • Experience with PDM (product data management) systems, preferred Autodesk Vault
  • Professional skill set and experience with AutoCAD
  • Strong working knowledge of AS3000 and other relevant electrical codes
  • Diploma in Electrical drafting/engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Control Systems or related engineering
