THE COMPANY

Our client is offering an Auto Glazing Apprenticeship in their Albury, NSW branch. In the end you will become a fully qualified Automotive Technician - Certificate 3. Through our client, this can take up to 2 years, moving up from a Level 1 to a Level 5. Levels of pay will go up as they are signed off by the Technical Trainers ideally every 3-4 months. Technical Trainers work collaboratively with the Branch Managers and team, so you have their full support. Uniforms will be provided; you will just need to supply safety boots.

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, with a dotted line reporting into the Auto Technician (Leading Hand), the purpose of this role is to apply technical knowledge and practical skills in the repair and replacement of Automotive Glass vehicles of all types. Automotive Glaziers/ Technicians deliver this service in a professional, timely and safe manner, observing the principles of customer focus and operational excellence in all tasks undertaken.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will start off learning chip repairs, then learn the replacement of windscreens and sunroofs. Moving on to re-calibration on the windscreens (new vehicles have auto stop, rain sensors).
  • Communicate clearly and confidently when speaking with customers and maintain a high level of personal presentation.
  • Ensure all documentation of customer details/transactions are entered correctly.
  • Assist the Branch Manager to comply with requirements of the health, safety, and wellbeing legislation for their region.
  • Ability to put the customer first and ensure quality standards are met and exceed customers' expectations.
  • You must be able to drive Manual and Automatic vehicles. Most of the work will be 52% in branch and 48% on the road, depending on the branch.
  • You must be able to work every Saturday, if not at least every second Saturday.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • School Certificate.
  • Driving License and be able to drive Manual and Automatic vehicles.
  • Previous experience using hand tools (14mm socket and ratchet and clip tool and phillips screwdriver).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a reputation for positively engaging and influencing others.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A high level of self-awareness and desire for ongoing personal development.
  • Desire to succeed, with an energetic and enthusiastic approach.
  • A high degree of flexibility with the ability to operate in a dynamic/changing environment.
  • Good organisational & time management skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks.
  • All successful candidates will need to pass a full medical plus a urine drug and alcohol test.
  • Due to the physical nature of the role, you will be required to bend, lift, squat with up to 22kg (this will be part of the medical).
  • Our client will cover the medicals and apprenticeship.
