About the Role

We have an exciting and rewarding support opportunity for Disability Support Workers. Located in Kambah, you will be part of the care team to support our client who has left-sided weakness due to a stroke, who is living with his partner, you will provide full assistance with all ADL's as well as mobility, bowel care and insulin management. Due to the nature and complexity of the client's needs, you will need to have relevant disability experience. An extensive onboarding program will be provided with buddy shifts to help you with your transition.

The right candidates will be flexible and available to work at least 2 days a week from 09:00 to 12:00 and cover any gaps when they occur.



Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manual handling using Sera Steady
  • Personal care
  • Insulin management
  • Continence Management
  • Medication Administration
  • Assist with meal preparation
  • Deliver true and authentic companionship to the client
  • Champion the client to achieve their set goals for the day
  • Assist and support the client in the home and out in the community

About You

  • Previous disability experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Manual handling Experience (Mandatory)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (Mandatory)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certificates (Essential)
  • Proof of your right to work in Australia

We are also looking for someone with great communication skills, who works well in a team, has a caring and supportive nature, and is client focused.

Skills and Experience

  • First Aid and CPR certificate - (Essential)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check - (Essential)
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or relevant qualification - (Essential)
  • Nationally Accredited Manual Handling and Medication Certificate (Essential)
  • NDIS worker orientation module - (Essential)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as Disability Support Worker (preferred)
  • Knowledge around type-II Diabetes
  • Prior experience working with Spinal Cord injured clients (preferred)
