The primary objectives of the position are to:
- Provide a high quality reception and telephony service for the Integrated Community Support Services Unit;
- Provide administrative support to the Manager, ICS and other members of the ICS Unit
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and screen incoming telephone calls and redirect calls to most appropriate resource when appropriate;
- Answer overflow telephone calls when other members of the unit are occupied;
- Receive visitors to the Unit;
- Provide information and support to relief telephonist staff.
- To provide administrative support and assistance to the Manager ICS and other ICS staff, including the following:
- to respond to general enquiries and where information cannot be readily obtained, follow up the request and respond accordingly;
- to provide word processing; excel; database and other electronic services;
- assist with financial management tasks;
- preparation of correspondence;
- use Objective to manage records and correspondence;
- access and monitor the manager's electronic diary and contacts;
- manage stationery and other items;
- support an office environment to ensure good work practices
- at peak times, assist Support Officers with overflow administration tasks;
- undertake other administrative support tasks as requested.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Sound administrative skills and experience in an office environment and/or the completion of a Certificate IV in business or equivalent. preferably with an understanding of the needs of the frail aged and people with disabilities;
- Demonstrated attention to detail, planning and organisational skills and abilities to develop and maintain efficient and effective office systems, as well as manage one's own workload and meet deadlines. preferably with a working knowledge of the services provided by council ICS Unit;
- Excellent computer skills in order to prepare and manage records and documentation, maintain and create spreadsheets and email/diary management;
- Excellent oral communication skills in order to maintain effective and positive interpersonal relations preferably with the ability to speak a language other than English;
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member and contribute to the success of the team;
- Customer service principles and practices to promote positive image of Council;
- Demonstrated ability to effectively handle customer queries and complaints through effective problem solving and communication.
