About the role:

Drake Medox is currently seeking a talented Compliance Officer to join our team in this full-time, hybrid role based in our Sydney CBD office. As a Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring Drake Medox maintains the highest standards of quality and compliance in delivering care services to our clients in the community. You will be supported by our National Quality and Safeguarding Lead in the delivery of Drake Medox compliance obligations and regulations within the disability sector.

Your key responsibilities:

As a Compliance Officer, your role is pivotal in ensuring practices are compliant with any relevant laws, regulations and licensing requirements within the disability space. Your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Incident report investigation and management (including restrictive practice reporting)
  • Review of company policies and procedures and updating accordingly
  • Report to industry bodies such as the NDIS, TAC, LSA etc
  • Assist Branch Managers and wider teams in maintaining high candidate compliance requirements
  • Analyse and report on new or potential risks
  • Conduct and take part in regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to relevant legislation and industry standards and advise on corrective actions
  • Provide training and education to staff on compliance requirements as related to the disability sector

About you:

As the Compliance Officer, your knowledge and expertise of quality assurance and compliance requirements, as well as excellent communication skills, will be at the forefront of your work, and you will demonstrate the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in compliance, quality management or related discipline (highly desirable)
  • 2-3 years prior experience in compliance and quality management, preferrably in the healthcare or disability sector
  • Demonstrated understanding of Health and Safety legislation and regulations
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to liaise with both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Conscientious and proactive approach to work
