SERVICE TECHNICIAN

YOUR ROLE

The purpose of your role as a Service Technician is to:

  • Undertake inspection and maintenance of façade access equipment in accordance with Australian Standards and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and document hazards for customer-owned plants and equipment.
  • Provide familiarisation training (inductions) to operators of third-party equipment and operate equipment for clients.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION DOES REQUIRE WORKING AT EXTREME HEIGHTS ON SOME OF SYDNEY'S MOST ICONIC BUILDINGS - IF YOU HAVE A FEAR OF HEIGHTS THIS ROLE WOULD NOT BE RECOMMENDED.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete detailed inspection reports
  • Assist Service Supervisors with scoping of hazard and fault resolution.
  • Undertake routine and annual inspections of BMU "Swing Stage Carrier" and fall-arrest systems.
  • Perform limited maintenance tasks (e.g., re-greasing, oil changes) in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's instructions.
  • Operate BMUs and provide operator familiarisation training (inductions)
  • Undertake BMU commissioning (and recommissioning) under supervision.
  • Assess the work site and organize the start of work efficiently.
  • Establish and maintain good team working relationships with Service technicians, supervisors, and managers.
  • Identify, assess, and report all hazards related to sites and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
  • Provide proactive communication regarding arrival on site, the status of equipment and potential hazard.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role or hands-on experience as a mechanical & maintenance fitting position
  • Pragmatic approach to the application of safety protocols
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Service Protocol (proprietary)
  • Sky trust (HSEQ Management
  • Prepare to work safely in the construction industry - White Card
  • Work Safely at heights (RIIWHS204E)
  • Class C Driver's licence
  • Desirable:
    • Licence to perform dogging (CPCCLDG3001
    • Licence to perform rigging (RI CPCCLRG3002 or RA CPCCLRG4001)
    • Licence to erect, alter and dismantle Scaffolding (SB CPCCLSF2001 or SI CPCCLSF3001)
    • Crane Licences
