We are seeking an experienced Trade Waste and Backflow Prevention Specialist for one of our clients, a government entity in the Northern Territory of Australia. This role contributes to operational effectiveness by implementing regulatory, quality, and assurance activities related to the Trade Waste Management System (TWMS), Backflow Prevention Register, and Bulk Waste function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the Company's Trade Waste Code through site audits, sampling, and management of the WasteID system.
  • Manage Trade Waste applications and discharge licenses and provide technical advice on pre-treatment installations.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Backflow Prevention Manual, including stakeholder engagement, site audits, and technical advice to plumbers.
  • Review Bulk Waste applications, issue Agreements, and perform monthly Bulk Waste Sampling.
  • Address non-compliance issues with Trade Waste, Bulk Waste, and Backflow Prevention requirements.

No direct or indirect reports.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Relevant Water Operations or Trade Certificate.
  • High-level interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships with stakeholders and culturally diverse customers.
  • NT driver's license or the ability to obtain one.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems, AS3500 Plumbing and Drainage standards, and sampling/testing techniques.
