We are looking for Administrative Officer/Industry Support Officer for one of our clients in Sydney.

  • Full time position - 5 Days week
  • Location: Inner West Sydney
  • Permanent Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Screening of candidate leads by phone for their suitability to a bricklaying apprenticeship.
  • Coordinate work trials with successful lead candidates.
  • Recruitment and placement of candidates into programs and events
  • Maintain job vacancy accuracy in CRM and via jobs board.
  • Assist with expos and careers events to promote career pathways through apprenticeship employment.
  • Process Brick start Subsidy claims and verifications with RTO
  • Admin support for the Industry Engagement Officer in developing relationships with schools, job seekers and apprentice training organisations through to promoting and placing apprentices within the bricklaying trades.
  • Attractive salary plus motor vehicle available for private use, mobile phone, and laptop
  • Proven experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • You may be required to do some presentations to school groups.

The Company - Established in 2005, our client is a non-for-profit organisation, funded by a small training contribution on the sale of clay bricks and concrete masonry and a matching contribution from participating clay brick and concrete block manufacturers.

Working with a small team, client's main goal is to help support young Australians build a career in the building and construction industry starting with an apprenticeship.

The Position - You will have ample opportunity to grow and further develop your knowledge of the industry through this hands-on role liaising with schools, job seekers, candidates and bricklayer employers for apprenticeship placement opportunities and verifying year level completions.

For you, this will mean attending expos and events, liaising with Australian Apprenticeship Support Networks, TAFE and Registered Training Organisations, Government departments, manufacturers and other key industry stakeholders.

Your dynamic and outgoing personality, along with your passion to make a difference will ensure your success in this role reporting directly to Company's Careers National Manager and working closely with the Industry Engagement Officer in this Sydney based team.

Desirable Candidate-

  • Self-motivated and adapt well to an ever-changing environment.

  • Great problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of the VET sector and/or bricklaying/construction industry experience preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent Office 365 skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Previous experience using a CRM is preferred.
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Excellent attitude and positive nature
  • Hold a valid driver's licence.
  • Working with children card will need to be gained.
  • Flexibility of hours to work the occasional evening/weekends.
  • Maintain focus and deliver results.
  • Availability for some travel.
