PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

In your position as the General Manager you will be responsible for managing the daily operational success of the hotel. This position interacts with club Owners, guests, apartment owners, all hotel departments, vendors, the community, the corporate office and local vacation ownership sales staff as necessary.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include but not limited to)

• Manage operational performance of hotel.
• Drive the Guest Experience Host program onsite to deliver the budgeted sales guest flow and penetration rates.
• Plan and monitor the property's financial performance against the operational budget to achieve optimum financial performance.
• Maintain strong working relationships with major suppliers such as wholesalers and retail outlets.
• In conjunction with the Marketing plan, implement and monitor sales & marketing.
• Ensure yield management and up-selling practices are implemented.

KEY POSITION CRITERIA

• Operational knowledge and experience in all hotel departments.
• Ability to motivate a team to work together.
• Ability to develop a budget and make decisions to ensure the hotel operates within that budget.
• Ability to train, coach, counsel and discipline employees.
• Ability to screen employment candidates, conduct interviews to identify staff that will succeed in their role.
• Experienced managing multiple business units.
• Thorough understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
• Ability to network within local communities and businesses and recognize opportunities for sales.
• Experience in the Sales and Marketing of accommodation and conferencing businesses.
