Our client is a leading innovator in manufacturing and distributing long steel products and is Australia's only fully vertically integrated steel manufacturer utilising scrap metal recycling and downstream distribution. They offer metal recycling solutions to a wide range of scrap metal generators, including householders, local government, mining, demolition, industrials, automotive recyclers, and waste companies.

The Lisarow site, specialising in aluminium and copper metals recycling, is seeking an experienced Weighbridge Operator to be part of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the weighbridge system to ensure accurate weighing of trucks and vehicles entering and exiting the yard
  • Record and maintain detailed data for each weighment, ensuring that weights and load details are accurately logged in the system
  • Generate and print weighbridge tickets for customers and drivers
  • Manage the documentation associated with incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Monitor and track truck movements within the yard, ensuring that vehicles are directed appropriately
  • Liaise with drivers, customers, and yard staff to ensure smooth operations and effective communication regarding loads
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations when managing vehicle traffic and site access
  • Conduct regular inspections of the weighbridge equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly
  • Maintain clear and organised records of all weighbridge transactions for reporting and auditing purposes
  • Work closely with the site supervisor to report any operational issues or discrepancies with weighments
  • Provide support in scheduling the movement of materials and coordinating yard activities related to weighing
  • Ensure all paperwork related to weighbridge operations is filed and stored accurately for reference

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience as a Weighbridge Operator is highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing data and records
  • Familiarity with weighbridge systems and software - highly regarded
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with drivers and staff
  • Ability to work independently and handle administrative tasks efficiently
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve any issues
  • Able to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
  • Available Monday to Friday for day shifts (7am to 3:30 pm)
