We are seeking a skilled professional to manage procurement, stock control, and supplier relationships within our dynamic team. About the Role:

As a Purchasing Officer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing materials procurement, stock control, and supplier management. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure timely supply of materials and equipment, optimizing efficiency and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure materials, tools, and equipment at the best price and reliability.

  • Maintain supplier relationships and source new suppliers as needed.

  • Monitor stock levels, ensuring appropriate min/max levels and replenishing as required.

  • Oversee incoming goods, verifying delivery dockets and managing short deliveries.

  • Utilize procurement software (training provided) to track inventory and purchasing.

  • Collaborate with the workshop team to ensure efficient workflow and job completion.

  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and industry regulations.

  • Manage factory and equipment maintenance in conjunction with workshop managers.

About You:

  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Knowledge of fabrication, steel, or automotive industries (desirable but not essential).

  • Familiarity with NHVR and relevant ADR regulations is advantageous.

  • Forklift license preferred but not essential.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
