One of Australia's leading primary healthcare providers with over 60 clinics located throughout metropolitan and regional centres, comprising medical centres and four dedicated skin clinics. Their services span all aspects of primary healthcare from general health assessments, paediatrics, travel medicine, skin checks, and chronic disease health assessments and management including diabetes and asthma. In many locations they also offer allied health services which will continue to expand, together with occupational health services.

They are seeking an assistant Practice Manager to provide the highest quality services to patients, clients, communities and visitors while promoting an internal culture of learning, high performance, and excellence. In this role, the 2IC works and contributes to the day-to-day operations of the practice including supporting reception, the Practice Manager and coordinating Chronic Disease Management (CDM) appointments within the practice. The 2IC will hold the ambition, leadership traits and knowledge in General Practice to step into the Practice Manager role to cover for periods of absence.

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to work a minimum of 4 days per week in the role.
  • CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications, Education and/or Experience

  • Previous experience in administration or clerical duties is ideal 
  • Previous Customer Service experience
  • Previous experience in a senior position within a medical centre supervising or managing staff.
  • Certificate in Business (Medical Administration) well regarded.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Practice IT Systems.
  • Excellent communication and strong leadership skills.
  • Basic first aid certificate is desirable.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge and skills
  • Previous experience with busy telephone systems
  • Experience using Microsoft applications - Excel, Word etc 
  • Ability to work methodically  
  • Data entry experience - operation of a computer terminal or similar equipment. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills 
  • Friendly and pleasant personality
