About the Role:

Drake Medox are seeking enthusiastic and hard-working support workers for to do inactive sleepover for our client in St Albans.

Our client is living in St Albans with a complex spinal cord injury and requires additional support workers to join their team on a casual basis. Our ideal candidate would receive client specific training with stable, consistent hours.

The right candidate will need to meet the following criteria:



  • +6 month manual handling experience (using hoist machines and slings)
  • Experience with providing personal care - this includes bladder and bowel care and assistance with showering
  • Have knowledge of Autonomic Dysreflexia
  • Be proactive and a quick learner
  • Has a fun and bubbly personality and great sense of humour
  • Experience in managing challenging or unacceptable behaviours



You must currently have:



  • NDIS Workers Screening Clearance
  • Valid Australian Driver's License
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Nationally accredited Manual Handling Certificate
  • Nationally accredited Medication Administration Certificate
  • Certificate IV in Disability or other relevant qualifications or experience is preferred
  • Availability for short shift fills 07:00am-10:00am and 16:00pm-19:00pm shifts



Duties:



  • Full assistance with personal care and manual handling
  • Bowel/bladder care this includes daily bowel care and SPC management
  • Full assistance with pressure area care
  • Medication management
  • Supporting the client in achieving their set goals for the day
  • Participate in recreational activities and engage with community
  • Light household duties & meal preparation
