THE ROLE:

As a Doctor/Patient Liaison Coordinator, you will ensure the efficient coordination of patient care, facilitating clear communication between doctors, patients, and healthcare teams. You will manage patient admissions, assist with invoicing, and ensure all documentation is accurate and timely. Your role is essential in providing an outstanding patient experience while supporting the smooth operation of the clinic.

KEY TASKS:

  • Doctor Liaison Officer and Management
  • Analysis of consulting data to ensure efficiency scheduling of patients.
  • Processing Bank Feeds
  • Ensure referral analysis occurs for the consultants
  • Communicating with Patient prior to admission to provide information relating to their admission
  • Liaising with relevant staff eg Anaesthetist as required to ensure efficient running of clinic
  • Providing patients with relevant information relating to their hospital admissions
  • Invoicing surgical accounts and submitting to health funds/third parties as applicable
  • Receiving Payments
  • Receipting direct deposit payments against relevant invoices
  • Preparation and distribution of the theatre lists
  • Updating patients' files as required
  • Dealing with day to day running of the consulting business

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Higher Certificate of Education (or Equivalent)
  • Knowledge of patient management system software
  • Knowledge of Windows Operating System
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (especially Word, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Familiarity with Health Fund Billing
  • Bookkeeping knowledge including GST requirements for small business
  • Knowledge of Internet Banking procedures
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Health Fund billing
