About the role:

Drake Medox is seeking fun, enthusiastic and hard-working support workers within the Burwood area.

Our client, living at home with a Spinal Cord Injuries- C4 Quadriplegic, is seeking support workers to join their dynamic team on an on-going basis. This is a great opportunity for you to make a difference in our client's life, as well as enhance your skills and knowledge with ongoing client specific training.

Our client is seeking someone who has a genuine love of gardening with previous spinal injuries experience; you must have excellent communication and engagement skills. The right candidate will be flexible and available to work every Fri-Sat and vacant afternoon shifts Sun-Tue, 15:00-20:00 and any more availble afternoon shifts in Feb.

Your key responsibilities

Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Support Worker who can undertake the following key responsibilities:


  • Manual handling
  • Personal care
  • Catheter care
  • Medication administration
  • Domestic assistance
  • Bowel Care management
  • Full supervision of the client
  • Pressure area management
  • Work with the client and assist with personal care and manual handling
  • Assisting and supporting the client in the home and out in the community

About you


To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:


  • Previous disability experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Minimum Cert III in Disability or other relevant qualifications
  • Manual handling experience (essential)
  • Personal care experience
  • Current accredited First aid and CPR
  • Yellow card/NDIS Screening Card
  • Manual handling certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Medication certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Right to live and work within Australia
  • Valid Australian Driver's License
  • NDIS worker screener check

We are also looking for someone with great communication skills, who works well in a team, has a caring and supportive nature, and is client focused.
