The Role

The IT Infrastructure Support Engineer ensures the upkeep and enhancement of critical ICT systems while providing technical assistance to end users across various platforms and locations. Their responsibilities include maintaining, safeguarding, and optimizing key technological infrastructure. The role involves continual improvement of IT systems and proactive problem-solving to ensure seamless operations for end users.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage system and network monitoring and alerting applications, optimizing their performance, and ensuring the smooth operation of network/servers in hybrid, on-premises, and cloud environments.
  • Operate within standard business hours for support, with readiness for occasional weekend and after-hours commitments for planned activities or urgent incidents.
  • Conduct system upgrades as necessary to maintain vendor supportability and enhance system security, and travel as needed to maintain infrastructure equipment across various municipality sites.
  • Actively engage with both internal and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and coordination to deliver projects successfully within budget and schedule, while also providing technical support and implementing new technology

Key requirements for the role

  • Extensive experience with core Microsoft applications, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune, SCCM, MS Azure
  • Advanced knowledge in Windows 10/11 desktops/laptops, mobile devices (iOS/Android)
  • Background in software packaging, scripting through Microsoft Intune and Aruba networks.
  • Advanced knowledge of ITIL processes and ticket management (Incidents, service requests, changes)
  • Understanding of cyber security practices.
