Did you know: on average, one woman a week is murdered by her current or former partner. Family, domestic and sexual violence is a major national health and welfare issue. It affects people of all ages and from all backgrounds, but predominantly women and children. The Australian Bureau of Statistics 2016 Personal Safety Survey estimate that 17% of women and 6.1% of men have experienced physical and/or sexual violence from a current or partner and 23% of women and 16% of men have experienced emotional abuse from a partner.
White Ribbon Day is an opportunity to bring people together, raise awareness and commit to action to prevent men’s violence against women. This thirty minute webinar will provide an overview of what domestic violence is, how you can report it and how you can provide support to an employee or colleague who may be experiencing domestic violence.
