Welcome to the Wellness Hub, a destination where everyone can thrive!

Drake Wellness Hub

The year of 2020 was unprecedented and forced individuals, teams and organisations into a complete state of disarray. The events of the year caused all sorts of challenges, both at home and at work, personally and professionally. During Australia’s first lockdown, it became clear that the impacts of COVID-19 were going to be long-term and far reaching. The year was going to go down in the history books as one to remember, for reasons both good and bad. Many of us saw loved ones go through hardship, businesses shut their doors, and workplaces struggling to keep their workers engaged, productive and committed. At the same time, we saw the love and kindness of humanity as communities came together to support one another and simply survive. We saw businesses flourish as they pivoted in order to remain viable and sustainable. For Drake International, we saw an opportunity in market to support our clients in their COVID journey, as they endeavor to make up for lost time, heal, and resume back to some sort of business-as-usual.

“The pivotal point was when our conversation with clients shifted from being incident management oriented and reactive to employees wellbeing, to proactive and equipping them with tools to ensure healthy coping mechanisms and strategies are instilled in time of undeniable struggle and constant change”

said Tazmayn Goode Drake’s Wellness Champion and Product Manager of the Wellness Hub.

“The Wellness Hub is a destination where everyone can thrive” says Tazmayne. “Our goal is to  influence systemic change in the workplace and manage workplace wellness by supporting not only the individual, but teams and overall organisational wellbeing.”.  The truth is there is no one-size fits all approach; physical, mental, social and financial wellbeing are all important aspects organisations need to be building on. Tazmayne says “If one prioritises their mental wellbeing but is completely sedentary, eats poorly and doesn’t manage their physical wellbeing, can they truly achieve complete wellbeing?”

2020 was a wake up call to many organisations; highlighting the fact many companies didn't have the right support around wellbeing in place. “If an egg is broken by an outside source, life ends. If an egg is broken by an inside force, life begins. Great things always happen on the inside first” says Tazmayne, and “for those companies that get wellbeing right, they will experience greater productivity, longevity of staff and ultimately, a healthier bottom line. It’s just good business sense.”

After a challenging 12 months, this year offers an opportunity to start afresh, rebuild and work towards new goals and objectives. 2021 will see quality and value-based organisations move towards ensuring they have the right support levels and tools in place to help their workers thrive through the highs and lows of work and life.
